Introduction

IDFC incorporated IDFC Infrastructure Finance Limited (IDFC IFL) on March 7, 2014 as a new infrastructure financing entity to carry on the business of the IFL under the NBFC format as per the RBI guidelines issued in this regard. The Reserve Bank of India granted Certificate of Registration to IDFC IFL Ltd on September 22, 2014 permitting the Company to carry on the business of IDF-NBFC. The Company commenced business on January 16, 2015.

IDF-NBFCs shall invest only in post COD infrastructure projects which have completed at least 1 year of satisfactory commercial operation :

  • > PPP projects with Project Authority – with a Tripartite Agreement
  • > PPP projects without a Project Authority
  • > Non-PPP projects

IDF to finance all operational (COD + 1) infrastructure projects as below:

  • > PPP projects with Project authority – with a Tripartite Agreement
  • > PPP projects without Project authority and non-PPP projects

Sectoral focus – Renewable power, roads, transmission, telecom towers, social infrastructure

“The Company is having a valid Certificate of Registration dated January 16, 2017 issued by the Reserve Bank of India under Section 45 IA of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. However, the RBI does not accept any responsibility or guarantee about the present position as to the financial soundness of the Company or for the correctness of any of the statements or representations made or opinions expressed by the Company and for repayment of deposits / discharge of liabilities by the Company.”

The Company changed its name from IDFC Infra Debt Fund Limited to IDFC Infrastructure Finance Limited with effect from January 10, 2017. The Reserve Bank of India granted Fresh Certificate of Registration to the Company on January 16, 2017.
